The highest price paid for a singular piece of Asian art at auction was over $27 million dollars. The year was 2005 and the item was a blue and white porcelain jar from China's Yuan Dynasty (1279 to 1368). Obviously only the most extreme of rarities ever reaches such high valuations but it does tell you that blue and white porcelain is once again in vogue.
