Fishbowls | Home » » » Oxblood red porcelain fishbowl / jardiniere / planter / pot | | | | | | | Description: | | Oxblood is one of the most dramatic glazes ever developed for porcelain or stoneware ceramics. It is copper based, requires extremely high firing temperatures and an exacting kiln atmosphere. The slightest variation causes wild fluctuation in color from black to blue to an almost mossy green. Oxblood glazes have been produced in China, where it originated, for more than 300 years. The glaze has an unusual finish as it is both glassy and smooth, yet has a distinct texture to its look. Decorators value oxblood porcelains for color, fine quality and sophisticated appeal. You can find examples of authentic oxblood porcelains in some of the world's top museums and most richly appointed hotels. Use this fine fishbowl as an accent piece or as a planter. It is as durable as it is attractive. The 14" fishbowl is measured across the Outside edges of the top diameter; its height is 11" and the base is 9" wide. The 18" fishbowl has an outside top diameter of 18-inches and the overall height of the fishbowl is 14.5". The base measures 11.25" wide and should be paired with a 12-inch stand. | | | Features: | |
