This traditional method of mounting allows the painting to be displayed with or without a frame and matte board. The style and technique follows centuries old conventions in Chinese brush painting. More than just a depiction of a beautiful scene, it is also a display of deeply felt harmony and balance. The horse is a symbol of strength, endurance and wealth in Asia and especially in Chinese paintings. Each of our vintage silk paintings were originally painted in the mid 20th century and are from the Yangtze River Valley, where the dramatic landscapes have inspired Chinese poets and painters for thousands of years. | | | Features: | |
