Good qualityJul 28, 2010 This is a very nice grinding stone. It's elegantly simple and works as intended. It is the same size as an adult palm. A tip: make sure to always rinse after use, if you leave the ink on it will lose it's grinding abilities.

For the price, perfectDec 29, 2007 Although this inkwell is not finely finished enough to be called "beautiful," it's perfect for starting out, and you can't beat the price.

Grind that stoneMay 12, 2007 This is a decent ink grinding stone for only seven dollars. It looks great, very zen-like and grinds the ink stick well. The color is charcoal and measures 3 by 3 inches with the inkwell portion one half inch thick. The lid is a great feature for keeping the ink from drying out if you have to leave off painting for a bit. I've been grinding ink on this stone quite a bit and the surface hasn't scratched or been grooved, which is more than I can say for a couple other stones I have used. I rated this product a 5 not because it is the best on the market, but because for the price it is quite a good machine carved stone.
